USMC WWII P42 Camo Shirt

NEW ITEM! The WWII USMC P42 camouflage shirt (part of the P42 Camo Uniform) was issued prior to the invasion of Tarawa and used throughout the campaign in the south Pacific. Our P42 reproduction is copied from WWII originals, making it accurate to the finest detail. Like the originals, it's constructed from 100% cotton herringbone twill and is fully reversible (with the 5-color green camo on the exterior and the 4-color brown camo on the interior). Features include one left chest pocket with "USMC" and the Eagle Globe & Anchor insignia (and another on the inside), one lower-right button-closure pocket (and another on the inside), and Scovil brand zinc plated snaps. This historically accurate shirt is a durable, battle-tested garment that can also do double-duty as a lightweight shirt-jacket. The fit is true to size, so please order your normal size. Imported.
Laundering: we recommend hand washing in cold water with a mild detergent and drip-dry. Machine washing may cause premature fading; machine drying may adversely affect the camo pattern and cause excessive shrinkage.

USMC Pith Helmet
|

These are genuine US Military pith helmets (1940s - 1960s era), not imported reproductions. They are in unissued, brand new condition. We were lucky enough to locate a supply of these helmets in a warehouse, and are making them available to our customers. Traditionally used by the colonial forces of Europe, India, Africa and the US, it was also widely used by missionaries, archaeologists, adventurers, and anyone else living in, or traveling to, the tropics. Original pith helmets were made from pith bark, from which the helmet derives its name. Over the years, construction and materials were improved, making it one of the most practical types of hot weather headwear. Pith helmets provide excellent protection from the sun, and the adjustable one size fits all web headband allows cooling air to circulate around the top and sides of the head, aided by multiple side vents. This is the same type commonly worn by US forces stationed in the Pacific during WWII. Our USMC version features a USMC cap device. Genuine US Military-issue, in unissued condition. Simulated top vent cap and puggaree band molded into helmet. Front chin strap on brim. Khaki color. Made in the USA.
Our pith helmet is also available in a plain version (no cap device) and a USAAF version (with USAAF cap device).

A Brief History: The Royal Ffrench Family of Ireland is one of the most notable noble families in Irish history and goes back to John LE Ffrench in 1278, who was originally Norman and a descendant of a member of the Ffrench Family who went from France to England with William the Conqueror in 1066. The Ffrench Family eventually settled in County Wexford Ireland and became one of the most prominent Tribes of Galway. Ffrench Castle was built in the year 1400 AD and a member of the Ffrench Family became Sovereign of Galway in 1444.
A member of the Ffrench Family came to America in 1671 and settled in Maryland. The family eventually migrated to Kentucky in 1785 and in 1911 Viola A. Ffrench of Sunfish Kentucky, the direct descendent of the Royal Ffrench Family of Ireland, was born. The Heir in the United States and of the Royal Family is US Wings CEO David D. Hack, son of Viola Ffrench. In Ireland, there is still a Lord and Lady Ffrench living at Castle Ffrench, at Ballinamore Bridge in County Galway. These are genuine US Military leather shoulder holsters, made to accept the 1911A1 .45 pistol. It's a rugged, military-tough holster that will allow you to securely and comfortably carry your .45 or similar large-frame autoloader. This type of holster was used from WWII through Vietnam by pilots, aircrews, and tankers. Snapped leather safety strap, adjustable leather harness, and leather belt hold-down loop. Stamped "US" on front of holster. Strap may be worn under the right arm and across the chest or over the right shoulder and behind the back. Cowhide leather. Made in the USA. Available in tan or black. Right-hand only.
