 Sterlingwear calls their peacoat "The Authentic" because it's the most accurate reproduction of the current US Navy issue peacoat available. The Authentic is the ONLY commercially produced peacoat on the market today that accurately reproduces the look, feel, warmth and durability of the classic military-issue peacoat -- but at a much lower price than many "pretenders." The Authentic features a 24 oz 80% wool-20% nylon melton shell, full fleece lining with satin yoke & sleeves, convertible collar, two front handwarmer pockets, one inside breast pocket, vented back, and anchor design buttons. The military peacoat has been a tradition for generations, and The Authentic continues that tradition with all the practicality, warmth & timeless style of the original. The Aviatrix peacoat is a truly unique contemporary interpretation of the classic naval "P"-coat. It's cut & sized specifically for women and features an ultra soft & supple shell made from the finest New Zealand lambskin leather. Other features include a six button double-breasted front, two flap-closure pockets, faux belt treatment, button-strap cuff detailing, and satin poly lining.
Although somewhat similar in style to the military peacoat (albeit far more luxurious & fashionable), its style is also reminiscent of the leather coats worn by the women who flew during the golden age of aviation! Color: black.
